Sessions are hosted on Google Meet found through a cohort specific Google Classroom, which will be shared with you and your child during the onboarding process.
Deliverables:
One remote onboarding process and grade deep dive, which will recorded in your child’s cohort’s Google Classroom. This process includes an in depth grade breakdown by subject and category, with two target classes identified for improvement and target actions for improvement for each of the target classes. Our lead, Mr. Larro, as well as our TA, Julian, will have access to this information and will be made aware of the action areas (e.g. Math Quizzes).
21 live cohort sessions, each held from 4-6pm totaling 42 hours. Each cohort is led by Mr. Larro, an NJ licensed teacher and current supervisor with over ten years of middle school teaching experience in NJ. Mr. Larro will be assisted by teacher assistant Julian, who has with years of experience working with middle schoolers in an educational capacity. Also note I will also be present in some of the live sessions to work with students one on one to update their running records.
Each month, an update report will be sent to you regarding child’s grade change and involvement within the cohort. In this report I’ll also be highlighting your child’s focus for the next month.
Running records of attendance, homework, and homework completion. If you see your child walking around the house prior to 6pm, know that their homework is complete and verified by either TA Julian or Mr. Larro and that the student is perceived to be ready for any quizzes or tests coming up.
Running records of grades. This will have four entries, one initial entry and three monthly update entries. I will be updating these so Mr. Larro and Julian can focus on student homework help and student exam preparation.
One plushie/stuffed animal valued at less than $20 shipped to student’s house, serving as the child’s cohort’s mascot and determined by plurality vote of students within the cohort. It’s a fun activity, students like it and it helps build social bond and positive rapport.
